Aiden...2 Months

Our little sweet pea will be 3 months old tomorrow so I'm a little behind on this post. It could have something to do with a certain someone....whose name begins with "O" who broke my camera. So, I had to take this pic with my phone. Here's sweet Aiden and his 2 month stats:

2 month stats:

height: 23 1/2 in (75th percentile)

weight 10 lb 5 oz (25th percentile)...still our little runt!

head circumference: 40 cm
We don't know why he's so small...he eats like a trucker and downs 6 oz bottles every 3 hours. Here are the things I want to remember about Aiden at 2 months: you seem to have decided (finally!) that you want to be in the world...you've started staying awake more and really interacting and paying attention to what's going on around you. You've started to really express your love for your brother by smiling at him and lighting up when he comes near you. You are still the most laidback person I know. Owen can get right in your face and scream and you just smile at him. You are my peace in the midst of the storm of our everyday life. You love to kick your legs and swing your arms around. You could care less about your pacifier but you definitely love to hold onto a blanket. You are so sweet and laid back....and have been such a blessing for our family!

Dear Aiden....

today was the first day you smiled at me when I came into the room which made the epic meltdown your brother had just moments later over a stupid turtle just a little bit more bearable....so thank you for that.

Love,
Mommy

Owen's prayers tonight went like this: "thank you for my toys, thank you for my house, thank you for my clothes, and thank you for my Em" . Em is his best friend Emily. So sweet!

sweet prayers

Owen has become more independent in saying his bedtime prayers and it's so sweet to hear who and what he prays for. It's funny to see how his little mind works. He always prays for his family and friends and his teachers. The past few nights he has also prayed for my car, his Nonnie's car, his toy cars, his toys, Emma, and Annabelle. From his lips to God's ears!

Brotherly Love

Here's the typical progression of Owen's interaction with Aiden.

observing him from a distance plotting his next move....

getting closer....

too close for comfort!

before we know it they'll be chasing each other and wrestling!

Snow Day 2010

All of my readers from the great white north will laugh when you see that we got out of school and the world shut down for this little amount of snow. Nevertheless, we have all enjoyed our snow day! Here are some pictures of our fun:

Chris and Owen had a great time building snowmen. Owen is still talking about it. He wants to be just like his daddy and imitated every move Chris made in the snow.

I love this one! He's concentrating so hard that he needs his tongue out.
Chris' crazy looking snowman
Owen's cute little snowman....yes Owen is wearing the mittens from the Eyore Halloween costume...it's the warmest thing we had...the poor child had to wear a hodgepodge of clothes since we don't normally get weather like this

The snow was all melted by the afternoon so we are so thankful that we could play outside this morning and enjoy such a rare event!

these boots are made for walkin.....

As I've mentioned before, Owen is obsessed with all things cowboy. When I came home the other day and took my shoes off he realized I was wearing boots and he started yelling my turn! my turn! so being the good mother I am....I assisted him in putting on the boots! Of course, Chris was thrilled! He walked around in his boots for quite some time before Chris finally made him take them off....mean daddy! I'm just storing up these blackmail photos for his teenage years.
